Applications on the Cloud can be seen as a specialized system, with fewer degrees of freedom when compared to the in-premises alternative, but can offer significant savings in TCO. The Hybrid Cloud Model is the ideal solution in that it provides the best of in-premises and fully hosted deployment.
One of the core elements that differentiates and powers the Hybrid Cloud model of CLEAR is the CLEAR Edge Server. It leverages the “Head in the Cloud and Feet on the Ground” ability of the web architecture, where the application components that control the data flow are hosted in the cloud and the media components that deal with actual media (file or tape) are present in the client premises.
CLEAR Edge servers are deployed in clients’ perimeter networks and interact with the Application layer that is hosted in the Cloud over secure web interfaces.
Designed primarily to provide high resolution storage at the client site, thereby enhancing security and instant access to content, this server is also capable of handling multiple applications locally such as:
• Encoding and Ingest (both Tape and File
• Content processing, including Transcoding, File QC, Watermarking
• Accelerated File delivery
Clients can deploy multiple CLEAR Edge Servers globally and deliver content, managing them through programmable workflows from the CLEAR platform hosted on the Cloud.
