Us folks at PFT’s Content Studio usually stare out of the office’s top floor windows. Our job is to use (I was forbidden to use the word waste…) the company’s time, space and resources to yawn, sip coffee and daydream.
This usually, leads to us executing ill-advised Kamikaze runs towards international and national awards with our documentaries, fiction, factual, factual drama & lifestyle programming. These runs are usually followed by a pat on the back from broadcasters and OTT platforms. Sometimes a hug or two even.
CXOs of brands however, sometimes raise their eyebrows in suspicion at the ROI galaxies we build for them with our techno-creative, transmedia content strategies. In time though, they too give us those elusive nods of approval. Sometimes, a pat on the back. Hugs…well…they aren’t really the stuff of boardrooms.
When we create IPs for the clients who give us money to create them, we use them wormholes across the PFT multiverse, horizontally cutting across verticals (yes, we can use jargon). Our tech team looks at us as if we were the still unknown Cicada 3301 codebreakers. The CGI peeps keep asking us to slow our thoughts down from Faster-than-light speeds. And since we keep bringing 4K, 6K and 8K produce, our post production chefs have turned our edit bays into a Michelin Star fusion buffet. I use the word buffet deliberately. There is commercial merit after all, in the Content Studio delivering turnkey solutions. You know… IPs… Recurring ROI… Bottom line, top line…
As you can see, we have a whole lot of fun doing what we love.
Seriously speaking though, our faith lies in inclusion and diversity. We believe different narrative forms and genres co-exist to build an engaged, interactive story world for communities. Stories, for us, are all about being human and the consequence of being human. And if such stories lead to increasing viewership/sales/footfalls, database conversions or even building brand awareness and brand love, the daydreaming from the top floors of PFT’s offices is worth it.
This is our game engine.
